More Than Just Church: Wake Up, We’re in the End Times

There’s a moment in every believer’s life where the weight of spiritual reality presses in when conversations with friends, family, or even fellow churchgoers reveal something deeper: many are asleep. Not physically, but spiritually. And in moments like that, our hearts break. Not from pride or judgment but from love and urgency.

I recently had a conversation with a friend about churches. She said, "All these churches have politics. It's all over the world." I paused, letting that sink in, but responded, "No, it's much deeper than that."

She shrugged, "Of course church against church, religion against religion."
Again, I felt the need to speak truth and said, "No... it's deeper than that."

She didn’t see it. And then I said the truth that burns in my heart: “We’re in the end times.”

She sent me a sad face emoji and responded, “Well, we all have our opinions.”

But the truth is, this isn’t about opinions. This is about eternity.

What We’re Missing

Jesus is coming back. That’s not a theory. That’s not an interpretation. It’s Scripture. He already told us what would happen before He returns the wars, the rumors of wars, the deception, the love of many growing cold, the falling away of the church, and the rise of false prophets (Matthew 24, 2 Timothy 3, Revelation). We are not just seeing these signs… we are living in them.

And yet, when you try to share this urgency, even with believers, it’s brushed off.

“It’s scary.”
“That’s your opinion.”
“Let’s talk about something else.”

That hurts. Not because we want to be right. But because we want people to be ready.

Just Playing Church

Too many go to church just to check a box. To feel good. To soothe guilt. To blend in. To be entertained.

They sing the songs, but don’t worship.
They hear the Word, but don’t apply it.
They speak of love, but refuse conviction.
They say “Jesus,” but ignore His return.

The truth is, many aren’t seeking relationship, they’re settling for routine. But Jesus isn’t coming back for churchgoers. He’s coming back for His Bride those who know Him, walk with Him, long for Him, and are found ready.

What Does Being Ready Look Like?

  • Repentance – Turning from sin, not just feeling bad about it.

  • Holiness – Not perfection, but separation choosing God over culture.

  • Watchfulness – Staying alert, aware of the times, not lulled by the world.

  • Boldness – Willing to speak truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

  • Love – Genuine love, that doesn’t compromise truth for comfort.

This is not the time to play church. This is not the time to sleep. This is not the time to coast spiritually. If there’s ever been a time to press into God it’s now.

Wake Up, Church

To every believer reading this: I urge you don’t brush it off. Don’t change the subject. Don’t let your heart grow dull to the signs around you. Don’t wait until it’s too late.

Jesus is coming back. It’s not just prophecy it’s a promise.
The question is not if. The question is: Will you be ready?

Let this be the time where we stop playing and start praying.
Where we stop attending and start abiding.
Where we stop blending in and start standing out.

Because it’s much deeper than politics.
It’s about your soul.
It’s about eternity.
It’s about Jesus.
