Let’s be honest for a second can we just take the "boss" mask off?
Sometimes, I sit back and look at the life I’ve built, the team I lead, or the goals I’m chasing, and I don't feel like a powerful "Queen." I feel tired. I feel the literal tension in my neck from the sheer number of people waiting on me to make a decision, hit the mark, or keep it all together.
In the KNg Dynasty, we talk a lot about reigning. But reigning isn't just about the highlight reel. It’s about the quiet, heavy responsibility that settles on your shoulders the moment you decide to be great.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur staying up past midnight to make payroll, an athlete pushing through a stress fracture, or a mother navigating the hearts of her children you are wearing a crown. And some days, that crown pinches.
The "Esther" Moment in Real Life
We love to quote Esther: "For such a time as this." It sounds so cinematic, right? But imagine being her. Imagine the pit in her stomach when she realized that if she messed up, it wasn't just her reputation on the line it was everyone she loved.
I’ve had those "pit in the stomach" mornings. Maybe you have too.
The athlete standing at the starting block, knowing a whole team is counting on that one split second.
The founder looking at a dwindling bank account, knowing families depend on her vision.
The leader having to have the "hard conversation" because integrity matters more than being liked.
Esther’s story reminds us that elevation isn't an escape from problems; it’s an invitation to solve bigger ones. The weight you’re feeling? It’s not a sign that you’re unqualified. It’s proof that you’ve stepped into a purpose that is bigger than your own comfort.
Why the Weight is a Gift (Even When it Hurts)
It sounds crazy to call a burden a gift, doesn't it? But think about the physics of it. A crown has weight because it’s made of precious metal. If your responsibility felt light, it would probably be because it didn't mean much.
It forces you to grow: You can't carry a 20lb crown with 5lb muscles. The pressure is actually training you.
It filters your circle: When the crown gets heavy, you quickly see who is there to help you carry it and who is just there to admire the jewels.
It keeps you grounded: Nothing keeps you humble quite like knowing that "to whom much is given, much is required."
How I Keep the Crown from Crushing Me
I’ve learned the hard way that you cannot lead from an empty cup. If you try to carry the weight of your world without leaning on the One who made the world, you will break.
I’ve started practicing "The Nightly Uncrowning." Before I go to sleep, I mentally take off every responsibility, every "what if," and every person I’m worried about, and I lay them at the feet of the Father. I remind myself: I am the steward, but He is the King.
I am responsible to the people I lead, but I am not responsible for the entire universe.
A Note to My Fellow Sovereigns
To my entrepreneurs, my competitors, my creators: Don't be afraid of the weight. You were chosen for this specific "reign" because you have the heart, the grit, and the grace to handle it. Your crown might be heavy, but your God is stronger.
So, tonight, take a deep breath. Release the tension in your jaw. You’re doing a better job than you give yourself credit for.
The weight isn't there to break you; it’s there to define you.
From My Heart to Yours:
What is one thing you’re carrying today that was never meant for your shoulders alone? Let’s talk about how to delegate that weight either to a person or to Prayer in the comments below.
