“I think I can go pro because I'm hard working I don't get distracted by off the field issues and I'm obsessed with my craft you have to be obsessed with your craft in order to become great at it!” – Terence Brooks
Terence Brooks a native from Chicago, IL, who plays
defensive back standing at 6’0 and 201Ibs. With a football style that is considered
scrappy, Brooks story is a little different
from other athletes. When you ask Brooks about his football career, Brooks did not grow up playing football like every other young man. Brooks picked up a football for the first time in college playing for Joliet Junior College in the 2009-2010 seasons. It was then when he fell in love with the sport and decided to pursue football further.
from other athletes. When you ask Brooks about his football career, Brooks did not grow up playing football like every other young man. Brooks picked up a football for the first time in college playing for Joliet Junior College in the 2009-2010 seasons. It was then when he fell in love with the sport and decided to pursue football further.
After playing his 2009-2010 football seasons at Joliet
Junior College in Chicago, Brooks went on in playing semi-pro football. He
played for three different semi-pro football teams before he went on to playing
professional. In 2011 he won the most improved player of the year with the
Lincoln Way Patriots.
Brooks training regiments are essential. He trains in different
facilities in Illinois. such as EFT Physical Fusion. EFT Physical is ground
zero for him to train. When he’s there, he works on his speed, agility and
weight lifting. In the fall of 2017 while preparing for arena football season,
he was able to push himself to bench press a 300Ibs four times.
Other than
football, Brooks plays basketball and he boxes. Those other sports are for fun
to keep himself in shape when he is not training for football or playing
football on the off seasons. Brooks is as a team player and is always willing
to help others in the craft. His cousins are the ones who support him getting
him to be successful in football. His cousins always encouraged him to reach
his highest potential in football and never give up on it.
One thing that motivates Brooks more than anything is his
son. Other than his son, his accomplishments in starting late in football helps
him stay motivated because he came from nothing to being someone that excelled
in the sport of football.
Brooks is confident he can get even further in his football career in getting in with the CFL or NFL.
