I still remember the weight of the pen in my hand as a young teenager, sitting with my journals and pouring my heart out in prayers that felt bigger than I was. “Lord, make me. Mold me. Build me.” I didn't fully understand why those specific words kept surfacing. I just knew there was a calling attached to my life that I couldn't yet name.
For a long time, I felt like an outsider in my own story. Even within the family I grew up in, I knew I was created differently, set apart for a path that didn't look like anyone else’s. It was a lonely realization at times, but as I’ve journeyed through this walk, the "why" has finally become clear.
If I didn't know who I was in Christ, I would have been swallowed up by the world’s expectations long ago.
Refined by the Flame
People often use the word "unique" as a catchphrase, but for me, it means something entirely different. It means being refined. My heart wasn't shaped in a comfort zone; it was built through the fire.
There’s a certain kind of strength you only get when you’ve been through the heat, and it taught me the value of being a "fool for God." I remember that saying so vividly from back in the day. To be a fool for God is to reach a point where you simply do not care what the world thinks. You stop seeking validation from people because your foundation is locked into something eternal.
Teaching the Next Generation
Now, as I look at my daughter, I realize that the most important thing I can hand down to her isn't just a name or a business, it’s the blueprint for a firm foundation. I teach her that we have to be intentional. We don’t just "hope" things work out; we take every single piece of our lives back to the Lord to let Him establish it.
At KNg Dynasty, we believe in identity. Not the identity the world gives you, but the one forged in the presence of the Creator. My journey has been different, often difficult, and entirely set apart, but I have accepted it. I am who I am because of whose I am.
Abide and Establish
The strength of any building is determined by what lies beneath the surface. To build a life that stands, we must listen to the whisper of the Spirit: Abide in me. Live in me.
"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock." — Matthew 7:24-25
When we abide in Him, we aren't just surviving the journey; we are fulfilling a purpose that was written in our journals before we even knew how to pray it.
Abide in Him. Live in Him. Build on the Rock.
